Fiona contacted me regarding some updated business portraits and headshots. During this call we discussed the look and feel required which was something less corporate but open with a commercial feel.

Head Shots & Portraits for Actor Clara James
A few weeks back Actor Clara James paid a visit to the studio for some updated head shots and portraits.
It was great to finally meet her and of course shoot new headshots and portraits for her actor portfolio.
For headshot sessions I always start with a chat and getting to know session, we discuss looks, outfits and the results wanted before heading on set and starting to shoot the first few frames. Sometimes the first 10 mins of shooting is the warmup and other times we just jump straight in. Clara was at home in front of the lens and a joy to shoot.
Business Mentor - Head Shots (Kevin Colley)
Kevin contacted me whilst looking for a photographer to shoot his new head shots for a business he was starting. That business is https://kcbusinessmentoring.co.uk/
We talked initially over the phone and some via email to narrow down a brief and requirements for the head shots. The heads were to be clean and simple whilst allowing Kevin to be himself.
Portraits Of: Katie
This is one of those shoot’s I meant to blog but then got busy and totally forgot. #mybad
Back in Feb 2017 Katie visited the studio for a shoot. Pretty sure it has been a good 2-3 years since we last worked together. Must not let that happen again.
The title image of this blog post shows the BTS. It’s rare I will shoot on a tripod unless I’m shooting product work but at times it is worth it for portraits to give you a consistent framing and a fixed camera position for the subject to play to.
To start with we worked with seated portraits on the ridiculously high stool I bought from Tesco’s last year.
I find that having a client or subject sit down is an easier way to start a shoot and it can help make them feel at ease. Katie has no problem getting straight in to a shoot.
On to some images.
